It's my birthday today ...

I'm going to get myself a strawberry shortcake and then Yard Duty for my daughter's Kindergarten class. When I get the kids home we'll have cake and I'll open up my present - I know what it is and I can't wait!!!


It has been a difficult year for me. I want to thank you all for being here for me - ears to listen to my problems, hearts that cried with me, and prayers for the kids and I. Many of you have your own troubles and yet you took time to give me words of encouragement. It helped tremendously ... s to all of you! You all mean so much to me ...

Time for some happy things in my journal ...

Kids and I are doing well. They are coping and so am I. Haven't gone through his things yet but I will tackle this week some time.

Took the kids to the mall today so they could buy a gift for me ... LOL I gave my son my credit card and ID. Then I told the clerk what was going on and told her that when she went to gift wrap it, pass by me so I could sign the credit card slip. It was too cute ...

We can't wait to move! School will be over soon and then we're out of here ...

It's been a week since he's been gone. His birthday is on Monday. It was so easy to remember as mine was always 7 days after his, and who can forget their own? ...

I think I am coming out of my slump, finally. I know there will be good days and bad, but I have some good things to look forward to. The grey clouds are still around but they have silver linings now.

I have been so busy. All the phone calls and cards! I have stopped answering the phone ... And taking care of so many details, bills, taxes, and with selling my house. We had it on the market before he passed, we were planning on moving anyway. I accepted an offer on the house this week. I was lucky, it only took 2 weeks to sell ...

I will be moving out of California when the school year ends. I don't want to take the kids out of school early. They have had enough to deal with and I don't want to add to it any more than I have to. As it is, they are excited to be leaving California since nothing has gone right since we got here.

My 5 yr old is having a tough time with her dad being gone. She wants to be strong even though I tell her she doesn't need to be. I told her tears were God's way of getting the hurt out. She had originally been telling me that it was okay for me to be sad but I wasn't allowed to cry. She has changed her mind and I'm allowed to cry now too ...

My 12 year old is being a perfect 12 yr old. Nothing bothers him on the outside but I know he hurts inside. He and his father didn't have a good relationship so I think he is torn because of that. I have both of the kids seeing counselors. Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone else.

Thank you to all my friends, watchers, and even the people I didn't know till now for all the support and kind words. Your stories, poems, and tears got me through the week ... Thanks so much ...

I started fractaling again. They don't look good to me at all but there are a few I will put up tonight.
